Epilepsy is a short circuit in the brain or another way to explain it is a thunderstorm in the brain where there is a disconnection. When that disconnection happens is when a seizure will trigger the brain. Say you see lighting hit a tree the tree falls that's your disconnection. Imagin that in the brain a million different places.
What happens during a seizure?
There are over 40 different kinds of epilepsy so when you ask what happens during a seizure it all depends on what kind you're talking about.
The most common people know about is tonic clonic previously known as grand mal. When this happens, the person drops shakes uncontrollably the eyes roll in the back of their head and there unconscious.
Absence seizure previously known as petite mal
person can not hear you. Only last seconds to a few minutes. Depending on the person. Looks very similar to day dreaming.
